About RealEstateNudge
RealEstateNudge helps passive investors figure out where real-estate exposure actually fits in a portfolio — without buying a rental property, fixing a toilet, or screening a tenant.
We focus on the part of real-estate investing that a normal working adult can actually do on a weekend: publicly traded REITs, REIT ETFs, and online real-estate crowdfunding platforms like Fundrise, Arrived, and their competitors. If a strategy requires a property manager, a mortgage broker, and a contractor on speed dial, it’s out of scope for this site — that’s a different business, not passive investing.
Who runs this site
RealEstateNudge is an independent publisher covering real-estate investing platforms and REIT products. We are not a registered investment adviser, a broker-dealer, or a real-estate brokerage, and nothing on this site is personalized financial advice. We’re a research and comparison resource: we read prospectuses, fee schedules, and SEC filings so you don’t have to dig through them cold, and we translate what we find into plain-language comparisons.
Our review methodology
Every platform review and comparison on this site follows the same process:
- Primary sources first. We pull minimum investment amounts, fee structures, redemption terms, and liquidity rules directly from each platform’s own disclosures, prospectus, or SEC filing (e.g., Form 1-A, Form 10-K) rather than from marketing pages alone.
- Same-basis comparisons. When we compare two platforms (e.g., Fundrise vs. Arrived), we compare them on the same variables — minimum investment, fee load, liquidity/lockup terms, and the type of real-estate exposure (diversified fund vs. single-property) — so the comparison isn’t apples-to-oranges.
- Explicit “who it’s for” and “who should skip it” sections. A platform that’s right for a beginner with $10 and a taxable brokerage account is often wrong for someone who needs the money back in 12 months. We call that out directly instead of writing a uniformly positive review.
- Periodic re-checks. Fees, minimums, and product lineups change. We note the review date on each post and revisit platform reviews when a provider changes its fee schedule or fund lineup.
- Disclosure on every monetized post. Any post that contains an affiliate link carries a disclosure statement at the top, consistent with FTC guidance — see our Affiliate Disclosure page for full detail.
Why trust what we publish
We don’t accept payment for favorable coverage, and platform rankings are not for sale. When we earn a commission through a link, it doesn’t change the ranking or the verdict — a platform with a high commission and a mediocre fee structure will still be flagged as mediocre. Our incentive is repeat readership, not one-time affiliate clicks, so credibility matters more to us than short-term conversion.
